I think I have just found my latest favourite wedding venue in Spain – El Rancho del Ingles! The wedding in Rancho del Ingles it’s just perfect.

Literally translated as The Englishman’s Ranch, this pretty Cortigo is as far away from English as you can get. Framed with bright purple bougainvillea and full of rustic Spanish touches, this beautiful Andalucian venue is ideal for couples looking for an intimate venue for their wedding or elopement in Andalucia. Wedding in Rancho del Ingles.

I saw the Rancho del Ingles for the first time a few weeks ago with a bride and groom that had booked me for their rustic wedding there in September. As soon as I stepped into the shaded patio of Rancho del Ingles and breathed in the scent of lemons and spring flowers, I knew I wouldn’t be able to wait until September to shoot a wedding there. I just had to photograph an inspiration shoot straight away to show future brides and groom just how breathtaking this intimate and romantic wedding venue is – so I spoke to the fabulous Mediterranean Weddings team and together we organized these pretty collections of photos.
The Cortigo has been restored to its full Andalucian splendor, with old worn wooden studded doors, a riot of floral summer colour and wonderful Spanish touches like the faded pillars and old donkey cart. I loved the feeling it had of being so remote and tranquil, with a gate to a secret wild garden and the abundance of wonderful smelling lavender.
For this shoot, wedding planners Mediterranean Weddings chose to show off the beauty of my new favourite Andalucian wedding venue by using two models that were simply dressed, because it suited their surroundings perfectly. Instead of a big fussy bouquet, we chose fresh bright pink and purple bougainvillea which really popped against the simplicity of the bride’s cream frilled dress and continued the traditional Spanish countryside theme.

This is an ideal location for a rustic wedding that – like the bride – needs little decoration or fanfare to looks naturally beautiful. Large fairy lights are strung up in the courtyard for couples to dance beneath on their big day, and the paths are lined with lemon trees and bougainvillea to give any wedding photos that magical Spanish touch. The grounds even include an old rustic Candy bar near the outdoor seating area where guests can enjoy the cocktail hour before the ceremony relaxing in the beautiful grounds. Wedding ceremonies can be held outside where I spotted a collection of eclectic blue chairs that are perfect for a Spanish rustic wedding. In fact, this is the ideal place to celebrate with big groups of close friends and family as its relaxed atmosphere and natural setting makes for such a laid back and special day.

El Rancho del Ingles is about old Spanish country charm. It’s not fussy, it’s not opulent and it doesn’t have to make a loud noise to make itself heard… Just like any good wedding, its subtle beauty and old fashioned comforts are what makes this intimate Spanish wedding venue one of my new favourites. I am so excited I get to come back again in September to document a beautiful wedding here with The Weddings Company – and I look forward to getting to return time and time again for more romantic elopements and rustic weddings. If it’s a traditional Spanish wedding you are after, you have come to the right place!
