There are many amazing things I adore about being a wedding photographer in Spain, and one of those is that I get to travel far and wide to document my clients’ big day. This season I was lucky enough to be invited to Ibiza, one of my favourite islands, to attend the wedding of a very cool couple – Ash and Christopher.

The jet-setting pair (Christopher is originally from Germany and Ash from Canada) met when they both moved to London and chose to make it their home. On holiday in Ibiza they fell in love with the charms of the Iberian isle, its laid back atmosphere and stunning landscape, so returned to celebrate their nuptials there. It was also a great place to bring together their family and friends from all over the world including Europe, America and South Africa.

The night before the wedding all their nearest and dearest congregated at a beach bar El Chiringuito  in Ses Salines beach. It was a typical Ibizan night with plenty of cocktails, laughter and of course a cool DJ playing chill out classics…the perfect way to get the party spirit going and gear everyone up for the wedding the next day.

Ash and Christopher had chosen the spectacular Atzaro agricultural Spa hotel in the heart of the beautiful countryside for their wedding in Ibiza. Surrounded by lush plantations and bright flowers, this Ibizan wedding venue was the perfect mix of tranquility and luxury that the couple were after. Ashly wore a simple but stunning backless dress and her golden hair loosely gathered in a rustic bun at the nape of her neck, and Christopher and his best men wore smart grey three piece suits and light pink ties to match the day’s pink and white colour scheme. The couple had chosen to marry in the Spa, beside the pool, with giant light pink lanterns floating in the water and an altar decorated with huge fluffy pink peonies and white muslin drapes. Sheltered from the warm sun by giant Balinese umbrellas, the atmosphere was reminiscent of tropical and tranquil Thailand…with a luxury twist.

Like any wedding in Ibiza though, style turned to partying and by the evening the guests were all wearing their neon pink plastic sunglasses and getting down to the amazing live music. There were bongo players, a saxophonist and a fantastic DJ. Ashly and their friends danced until the early morning, to the backdrop of Ibizan countryside with the scent of peonies carried in the Mediterranean breeze.

Ash and Christopher’s wedding in Atzaro was the perfect mix of chilled out elegance and typical Ibizan good times. This wasn’t my first wedding in Ibiza, and I hope it won’t be my last, as there is nothing I love more than a cool couple like Ash and Christopher, and being a wedding photographer in Ibiza. Don’t stop the party!
